About Green Chips

Green Chips is a unique public/private partnership to encourage environmental sustainability initiatives in Southern Nevada. In response to the needs of the global environment, Green Chips is helping local residents and businesses take real steps to reduce environmental impacts in our own community. To us, "think globally, act locally" is more than a slogan, it is a mission statement.

Green Chips encourages everyone in Southern Nevada - residents, businesses, and visitors alike - to:

• Conserve Energy. When you aren't using lights and appliances, turn them off. Perform an energy audit of your home or business and invest in energy efficiency. A few simple steps can dramatically reduce your energy bills and your carbon footprint.
  
  
• Conserve Water. Reduce unnecessary water usage by landscaping with local and native low-water use plants. Check your home and business for hidden leaks.
  
  
• Recycle and Reuse. It's amazing what you can recycle - paper, plastic, glass and metal are just a start. Don't throw away items that can be reused - if you no longer use something, donate it to a charitable organization rather than putting it in the trash.
  
  
• Reduce Your Carbon Footprint. Green Chips supports and helps finance projects that will reduce carbon emissions by businesses and residents in Southern Nevada. Our ultimate goal is to help the region achieve carbon neutrality.

Who We Are:

Bringing together leading local companies, governmental organizations and non-profit agencies with interested residents and visitors, Green Chips serves as an umbrella organization to coordinate investment in conservation and renewable energy projects, to provide an information and referral source for new environmental sustainability efforts, to offer helpful tips on how individuals and businesses can make a real difference, and to stimulate the creation of green jobs in the local economy.
